The Charlotte Central School Library is a place where students can think, create, share and grow. It is a physical space and a virtual space. The library program helps members of our school community access information of all kinds. The library program supports the freedom to read. Students are encouraged to locate reading materials that both guide their learning and grow their personal interests.
Students in Kindergarten - 4th grade have a library visit with Mrs. Huestis for 40 minutes each week. During that time, they participate in lessons that teach multiple literacy skills.
Students in 5th - 8th grades learn & practice information literacy and digital citizenship skills embedded into units of study and in collaboration with subject area teachers. They are able to visit the library as needed to find books!
All students have access to our 24/7 virtual library.
Mrs. Huestis has worked at CCS for 15 years, and she is excited every day to teach and learn with your students! She mentors new school librarians, and has been recognized by the University of Vermont and the Vermont Association of School Librarians for her work with our school community.
